1. Whats up, Steez. How are you?

- Im doing good
2. You are about to release "About Time". What can you tell us about it? (Guests, producers, singles, song titles, release date etc)
- Although I have always been working look how long it is taking me to put out an album. The first thing they see when the album is instores is, "About Time." I say it before they do. Be sure to stay on the lookout for One Shot Willy Pt .2, releasing June 15.

The album is planning to be released in August of 2010. We mostly used in-house producers, but we also have beats from J. Dealer, Lab Rats DNS. Along with guest appearances from Busta Rymes, Frenchie, Jadakiss, Reek da Villian. Our current single from the album is, "Wut R U Doin'" and the next single is "Illegal" ft Amara , one of my artists.

3. Which label(s) will it be on, and who is charge of the distribution?
Paperrock/ Billionaire Mafia. Distribution Who Mag.

4. Do you feel the album release is long over due? What took it so long?
Way over due. Politics, a lot of politics.

5. Do you think that your experience in the music business through all these years, has made it easier to make the first album? Why?
- No, I change myself constantly to make a hit record, and show that I can make more than hardcore or street records. I studied some of the greats, Puffy, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, they taught me how to do this.

6. If you could change one thing through your career, what would it be?
- Would have paid more attention and put more time into Spliff Star, just as much as I did Flipmode.

7. There's been a lot of talk if Flipmode ever will release a second group album. Have you, Busta and the rest of the unit talked about it lately? Is it major label politics who mainly stops it?
- I don't see that happening right now. Like I said the politics.

8. Which rappers and producers would you like to collaborate with, that you haven't made a song with yet?
- Mystikal , Juvenile, Snoop Dog, and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, sexy ass Rihanna and Keri Hilson, and last but not least least Jay Z. As far as producers I would like to work with, Pharell, Bangaldesh, Just Blaze, Kanye, Dr. Dre, and Polow the Don.

9. You have been looking for a hype man for your own live shows. Have you found it yet? What do you look for in a good hype man?
- I'm gone have to make a contest and let people pick cause that's gone be hard to find a hype man. It isn't about jumping out there and getting all wild, you have got to have passion for it. I look for people to outshine the person in charge, I need someone to accommodate me and not always try and outshine me. They have to have character be a people's person also.

10. You're the CEO of your own company, Paperrock Records. Which artists are on the label? Can we expect any releases (mixtapes albums) from those artists in the near future?
- I have rappers Sharecka, Chris steez, Cali Classic, along the whole Star Game which includes three more rappers. I have R & B artists by the names of, Amara and Brittany White. Ominco is a pop artist of mine.

11. Any last words to the fans?
-Be a trendsetter, don't be a follower, the best thing that you can do in life is you.

XXLMag.com: You dropped B.O.M.B. last May and are already knocking out The Chemo. What’s the thought process behind putting out a new album so quickly?

Busta Rhymes: The reason I decided to come with another album so quickly is because I was inspired. There’s music coming out lately that’s definitely inspired me to want to stay in the studio.

XXLMag.com: What’s the meaning behind the name of the new album?

Busta Rhymes: The thing that I want to primarily get across through the name of the album is there are many stages of chemotherapy, depending on the level of cancer existing in someone. The life line of the way we value hip-hop overall, knit picking songs… it’s completely misconstrued the value of the content and I think that’s definitely something that’s contributed to the slow death that not even hip-hop but the music industry is encountering. I want to do whatever it is on my part to contribute to that initial treatment to start inspiring others to go in the direction necessary so that we can all collectively save the music industry.

XXLMag.com: Being that your goal is to inspire other artists, who are you actually working with on the record?

Busta Rhymes: I don’t want to disclose the cameos but I do have records with people like Wyclef. Salaam Remi did the record that me and Wyclef did. Big up to Trey Songz, Chris Brown, P. Diddy and Dirty Money… Again, I don’t know who and what’s going to end up on the [final] album because a lot of it is contingent on clearances… I’m still in the process so we’ll know in time.

XXLMag.com: You mentioned Salaam Remi, what other producers have you worked with so far?

Busta Rhymes: I got a lot of great people coming to the table on the production level, so far Focus, Rockwilder, Nottz, the legendary, late, great J Dilla, DJ Scratch, Cool & Dre, the Runners… those are just the names of a few of the people that’s come to the table… Oh, and Dr. Dre came to the table again.

Less than a year after releasing his eighth studio album, "Back on My B.S.," New York rapper Busta Rhymes plans to strengthen the state of the music industry, which he says is "dying like cancer is killing it," with his brand new effort, "The Chemo."

"I called the album 'The Chemo' because it seems like the industry and music overall is dying slowly," Busta told Billboard.com of the Flipmode/Universal Motown project, slated for an early 2010 release.

"The cancer that's stricken the business is killing the music, not only from a business standpoint, but also the value of the content and the creativity behind it. I just want to start the first stage of chemotherapy treatment that needs to take place and hopefully inspire others to do their part and contribute to different stages of the cure."

Still, Busta recognizes those artists who are taking a stand against the "dying industry" by putting out "great music," noting that "Jay-Z put out an incredible album this year and Lil Wayne put out an incredible album last year." Others he commends include Jadakiss, Drake and Trey Songz.

Busta's also played a role this year with the release of "B.S.," which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, selling 135,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

A single hasn't been selected yet, but Busta says fans can expect new music to hit the radio waves and blogosphere in December. So far, featured artists on "Chemo" include Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Wyclef Jean & Sean "Diddy" Combs

"The new album is 80 percent finished, and it's called The Chemo. It's the first time I'm announcing the name of the album. It's self-explanatory. We're coming to kill the cancer in music. I ain't trying to offend anybody. I think it's real important that we keep. ... We gotta re-establish the understanding that the perspective of hip-hop is to make music that always felt undeniable and unprecedented and we set a standard. Real name: William Lewis
Birth: East Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, USA, 19th April 1975.

Busta and Spliff grew up together on Church Ave. East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Busta's family lived across the street from Spliff's.

His first $1000 came from the streets. He was dedicated to any hustle that he had. And, most of his friends were doing the same thing that he was doing, except for Busta. They’ve been friends since 9 years old. Busta always loved music and Spliff had the passion for street life. So naturally, he started going to studios with Busta when he was with L.O.N.S. And, he would, of course, stay in the sessions when it was over. Spliff loved the way it felt, and he loved to see the creativity and hard work that was put into making music that he loved. So, one day Spliff took Busta to his lawyer to pick up a check. That check was for $34,000. Spliff was like, "Oh, shit, what’s that for?" And, Bus said that him and (Charlie) Brown wrote some shit for Bell Biv Devoe, and that was his slice. That’s when he knew that he was in the wrong game. Spliff already had love for the music and was going to studios all the time, learning the craft.

Busta and Spliff inducted everybody in Flipmode, and made it to what you know as Flipmode Squad. You gotta understand that they created this monster, and it ain’t going away! Basically, Spliff was hustling in the streets, deep in game, and some unfortunate events took place. He don’t really speak about it in raps or in conversation. But, after that Bus took him to Cali with him to film (John Singleton’s) Higher Learning. He was around Larry Fishburne, Tyra Banks, Omar Epps. It was all cool till he met Ice Cube - That was the shit! Then he met Pac later on that trip to L.A.. Once Busta told him he was going solo and wanted to start Flipmode, he has been with him ever since and never went back to the street hustle - Spliff Star was born!

He released "The Imperial" in 1998 with Flipmode, and has appeared on many solo projects by Flipmode.

He is now a CEO for his own label (which is overseen by Busta Rhymes), Paperrock Records (with Bigbucks, The Lab Ratz, Trackdilla, Classic, Dem Jointz, Amara, DNS Music & The Paper Rock Street Team). He released his first street album on Itunes called "Contraband" in January 2008. Spliff says "Paperrock Records is a huge highlight in his career and life, and that you gotta understand that it is an incredible thing to be able to run your own company, and be able to have the flexibility that I have to build and nurture artists and producers, as well as myself. I must say that I have learned a lot about this game, and myself, from this venture".

In January 2008 he released his first street album (on Itunes), called "Contraband". His second street album was released August 2009, called "One Shot Willy".

Spliff has given fans just a small glimpse of his musical artistry, and he plans to release his debut album appropriately entitled “About Time” in 2009. Spliff explains it best himself: "It’s about time that the world gets to see a little bit more about your man Spliff Star. It’s about time that you get to hear my story. It’s about time for me to get my shine on. You know my album About Time is a biography and a map of the Fat Man Son’s life. There are a lot of things that people don’t know about me. And, when they hear and see what’s in store, they gonna say "It’s About Time!"

Trevor George Smith Jr. a.k.a. Busta Rhymes was born in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, USA 20th May 1972 to jamaican parents Geraldine Green (1947) and Trevor George Smith Sr, and he has a younger brother, Paul Smith. His parents divorced when he 10 years old. Busta’s time during the year of 1983 was that of change, his parents got divorced and his way of thinking was altered, during that year he also changed his religious beliefs and re-named himself ‘Born Justice God Allah’ because of the supreme sorts of names that he now believed in and looked up to. He discovered hip hop music through listening to the Zulu Beats Radio Show, something influenced him from that show and three years later he would form a group. Busta also went to school i United Kingdom, where he lived in Blackpool, Preston and Morecambe. Ended up graduating from George Westinghouse High School in downtown Brooklyn. As a youngster he played basketball, football and soccer.

His Panamanian baby-sitter, Aunt Mitzi, made him listen to all the rap radio stations. So, He would sit there at 2 in the morning rapping when he was supposed to be sleeping. I just couldn't be too loud or Mitzi's poodle would start dancing around and barking. One night, the poodle barked and Mitzi took my radio away. So he said, "I don't need that radio. I'll write my own rap songs." Busta Rhymes later became part of a B-Boy crew with mainly latinos, a couple of white kids, and Busta, the only black one. When he was about 10 years old after he moved from Brooklyn to Long Island, where he became a member of the crew when it was a big contest happening which the leader of the crew, Johnny Juice watched. Busta just came up to him like, "Are you Johnny Juice?" and Johnny answered like "Yeah." and he said he wanted to be down with this crew. He started poppin' and Johnny said he was dope so he said "We're about to do this contest" and they wanted to put him down with them, but he didn't know the routines. But they put him down anyways and they lost the contest because they didn't know where to put him in the routine. The next contest they had was more of a battle, for the crown of best b-boys in Long Island and they had their crew there and they won. Busta destroyed these other guys, when he was poppin. Johnny Juice says "even if you listen to his rhymes now, you can tell by the way he rhymes and the way he moves around he's really dope on the popping shit".

Before his leap to stardom, Rhymes, was a rambunctious middle-class kid from Long Island who wrote "rap poetry" and dropped out of high school to pursue a music career. "I really thought he'd be a dancer," says his mother, Geraldine Green. "At family cookouts he would win all the dance contests. He was always a showman." He reminds his worst job: “I used to work as a stock boy at a department store called Cheap John’s,” he says. “I knew that I couldn’t really wrap my head around doing that kind of work. Even if your heart is not in something, your mind has to at least be able to be willing to do it. So, I took the job and I worked for about two weeks, and then I quit.” Why?
“They just had me doing too much. I had to line up the roach sprays on the shelves and make sure they were all in order, facing the same way, with the logos facing the front. The dishwashing liquids, the detergents, the boxes that they came in when they came from the actual shipping companies that they were manufactured at. After I lined them up on the shelves, I had to cut up the cardboard boxes, fold them up neatly and tie them up so that they could do the recycling thing with them. After a couple paper cuts too many, and hands that were calloused and ashy and bruised, I said ‘this is definitely not the thing for me to continue to be doing.’”

Busta adds, “I used that as inspiration to go into the studio all the time when I had a free moment. After work, during my lunch break, traveling back and forth to work … to just apply myself creatively, and the opportunity finally came one day when I was downtown.” At 17, Rhymes landed a six-figure record deal.

LONS signing with Elektra

His first name as a rapper was Chill-o-ski, but he thought it was a corny name, and Chuck D from Public Enemy gave him a new name, Busta Rhymes. He got the name from an american football player from the eighties, George "Buster" Rhymes, and people always asked him to "Bust-a-rhyme", so the choice was easy. In the end of the eighties he emt Charlie Brown at Turtlehook Middle School and they formed Leaders of the New School with Dinco "The rhyme scientist" D and Milo In De Dance (aka The Cut Monitor). They were on Rush Management. They was signed to Elektra Records December 12th 1989. First Recorded Appearance: “Mt. Airy Groove” from the Rubaiyat compilation, Elektra 1990. A&R Dante Ross heard about Leaders of the New School from Hank Shocklee [Bomb Squad] and Chuck D [Public Enemy] and them.He says "I knew they were one of their burgeoning groups and I also knew they didn't have a record deal. I heard they were performing and I went to check them out. I had just got my A&R gig at Elektra. I went there, saw them perform, grabbed them right after the performance and told them they had a record deal if they wanted one. LONS released 2 albums, "A future without a past" in 1991, and "T.I.M.E." in 1993. In 1992 Busta's girl was pregnant, but the baby died right after he was born, and Busta had big personal problems after that, but he got great support from his group members. In 93 they where divided because of ego in the group.

A couple of other things that made him well known before his solo career was a couple of cameo performances, among them A Tribe Called Quest's remix of "Scenario" with Leaders Of The New School, and the "Flava in ya ear remix" with Craig Mack and Rampage.

It took Busta three years before he released an album for Elektra, in 1996 he released "The Coming" with the hits "Woo hah! Got you all in check" featuring Rampage and "It's a party" featuring Zhane. while recording his debut album, he left the studio to check on his new SUV. He'd recently purchased the Toyota Land Cruiser, a giant vehicle that gives the impression of driving on an elevated track, for $40,000. Rhymes took the elevator down and came out on Broadway, in lower Manhattan, at 11:30 p.m. His ride was gone. Furious, he marched back inside and closed the door in the recording booth. "There was nothing I could do at that point, so I just vented that angry energy into three songs," he says. Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check, one of the tracks he completed by morning, went on to become a street anthem and crossover hit, his first ever.

There was a short gap between the release of Busta’s first album and his second album, but it came sooner than people imagined it to. Busta was sceptical about bootleggers copying the new album so for reviewing purposes he only sent out album samplers. In 1997 he released his second album, "When Disaster Strikes", and after that, his popularity exploded. 1998 became a very good year for Busta, he started his own clothing line, BUSHI designs, and released his third album "Extinction Level Event (The final world front)" and Flipmode Squad's debut "The Imperial". Flipmode Squad at that point included Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga, Spliff Star, Rampage, Baby Sham & Lord Have Mercy.

1999 became a year with problems for Busta, he had to visit the courthouse a couple of times because of child support, and police stopped his car and found an unregistered gun. He lost the case about child support, and he got a 5 year probation for the other case. Now Elektra started to shut him down with less studio time and promotion for his next album. Busta didn't like that, and took his squad over to J Records in 2001 after his fourth release in 2000, "Anarchy".

J Records

His first album at J was "Genesis", with the hits "What it is" featuring Kelis, "Break ya neck" & "Pass the courvoiser part 2" featuring Pharrell and P. Diddy. Now he is CEO for Flipmode Records. In november 2002 he released his most fervent album so far, "It Ain't Safe No More" with the singles "Make it clap" featuring Spliff Star, and a remix of it featuring Spliff Star and Sean Paul. Other achievements in 2002 was the movie roles he had in "Halloween: Resurrection" and "Narc". In 2003 his SUV was shot up with 6 bullets while he was in the Violator offices, that happened just a month after a couple of people shot inside their offices. The collaboration with Mariah Carey & Flipmode Squad named "I know what you want" on "It ain't safe no more" became Busta's biggest hit so far.

Aftermath

In February 2004, Flipmode Squad joined Aftermath Records, New members was added to the squad: M. Dollars, Labba and former Blackstreet Chauncey Black joined them. In March he got a six month probation sentence after pleading no contest to a charge that he assaulted a woman during a concert in Fall River, Massachusetts, in December 2002.

In November 2005 the first official single off the album "Touch it" was released to radio. The video premiered in December. He is now the father of four children (born in 93, 99, 00 and 02). In February, while making the second video for "The Big Bang"- the "Touch it remix" ft. Mary J. Blige, Missy, Rah Digga, Lloyd Banks, Papoose and DMX, one of his bodyguards, Israel Ramirez, who recently started working security for Busta as his jewelry handler, was shot and killed shortly after midnight outside of the Kiss The Cactus Production studio in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, NY. According to eyewitnesses, the shooting was a result of an argument that began inside the studio and continued outside.

The Aftermath chief Dr. Dre said before the release of The Big Bang that ”All of sudden I’m hearing people in the streets talking about hos Busta’s back. In my mind, he never left, and that’s why I wanted to fuck with in the first place. He’s got that drive, and he never stops trying to top himself. Anybody who knows Busta knows that he’s always gonna come with heat." His third video from "The Big Bang" was released 10th May, "I love my bitch". The video features actress Gabrielle Union and the Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am, who produced the song, but Kelis who is featured on the song, was not in the video. The single also features Kelis, but she's not featured in the video. Also changed is his appearance, as he has cut off his trademark dreadlocks as part of a personal renewal. "Eight years of court appearances later and I was awarded custody of my children," he explained. "My hair was remindful of the unnecessary rocks in my career and life. So it was time to shed the locks... I've got my career and family right." "The Big Bang" was released 13th June. The fourth video was released in July, "New York shit" and the fitth video came out in August, "In the ghetto". The album was certified Gold in that month too. This month he was also charged with an assault after the Amsterjam Music Festival on Randalls Island, and he was ticketed after police saw him talking on his mobile while driving past a Manhattan police station.

On January 3rd 2007 he turned himself in to police custody after he allegedly attacking someone on Boxing Day. Lt. John Grimpel said a man told police that Rhymes, had punched and kicked him repeatedly after an argument over money. On May 3rd was arrested on a drunk driving charge by police in New York City. Officers stopped Rhymes at about 12:40 a.m. because the sport utility vehicle he was driving had overly tinted windows, officers then smelled alcohol on the rapper's breath and he was subsequently arrested. was released on $7,500 bail, set by Judge Tanya Kennedy. After a 8th May court appearance, he was free to drive. Rhymes' lawyer said a judge ruled against a prosecution motion to suspend the rapper's license following the driving-while-intoxicated arrest. He also turned down a plea deal that day that would have sent him to jail for one year, the Manhattan district attorney's office said.

Bus appeared in a Super Bowl finale commercial for Pepsi Max Diet in February. Busta Rhymes pleaded guilty on 23rd January to assault, two driving infractions and weapons possession, avoiding a trial and the yearlong prison sentence recommended by prosecutors. But Judge Larry Stevens disagreed with prosecutors that Rhymes deserved time behind bars. Instead, he sentenced him to three years' probation and 10 days of community service for beating a fan who reportedly spat on his car in August 2006, and then assaulting his driver, Larry Hackett, that December. Rhymes was also fined $1,250 for driving with a suspended license in 2006 and driving while intoxicated in 2007. "I just want to say that I'm very grateful to the judge, I'm very grateful to the system. I believe in the system. It hasn't failed me personally yet," Rhymes, dressed in a crisp black pinstripe suit, said outside the courtroom.
"I'm just glad that all of this is finally behind me and I can go back to doing what I do best - making great music and great films and being a people person," he said.

His 8th solo album "Blessed" was set for a release in July 2008. First he called it "When Hell Freeze Over" then he changed it to "Back On My B.S.", a title Pharrell helped him come up with, last it was changed to "Blessed" in April 08. Rhymes was added to Projekt Revolution 2008 (summer tour), He was joining Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, The Bravery, and Ashes Divide on the main stage. After the first week of touring he had to leave the tour because of business matters; Late July he left Interscope, because they couldn't agree with Busta how to handle the final version of the album.

Motown

In September 08 he his new deal was announced, with Motown/Universal. He then re-titled his album to "Back On My B.S." The first single was released in October 2008, called "Arab Money" featuring Ron Browz. 2 remix videos with different guests were later releases in February 09. The second single, "Hustler's Anthem 09" was released in Febuary too. The third single's video "Respect My Conglomerate" was released in March. "Back On My B.S." was released May 19th 09, and entered the Billboard chart at #5, after a lot of delays; 1st July 08, 9th Dec. 08, 10th Feb. 09, 24th March 09). In June, the video for "If you don't know" was released. The video for "World Go Round" will be released soon.

And everybody take notice: Pharrell's new album is incredible. He played it to me in the studio and that shit made me cry, just like with Midnight Marauders when I first heard it. This isn't Rebel Child Soldier [Pharrell's rumoured supergroup with Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco], this is Pharrell by his self! Yo, the shit that he does on this album, he has never given it to anyone, ever. And it's no cameos on it! He has no-one with him on his album at all - it's just him by his self. An example: Story to Tell on Biggie's Life After Death - it was just one verse of a very dope story. It had that creative approach that we could all identify with the situation, but nobody woulda thought of it to do it. The story behind I'mma Go and Get Mine is we was in Miami at a South Beach club called Privee. They had a long VIP area, and at the end there's a DJ booth and a long row of tables on either side. By the DJ booth is where the people who spend the most money are put, because it's away from all the people who're walking past. It's a little darker, cool, sexy. They had some guys who looked like stockbrokers, and, long story short, there was this young guy, 24, 25, with a real clean suit on, looked like they brokered a great deal and were in there celebratin'. A couple thugs came through the VIP section and wanted to sit at the table, but this guy wasn't movin' - he came early and was spendin' money. The thug started makin' a scene, and he was disruptin' the energy - everybody was having a good time before he came and the whole VIP had a problem with the kid. And five minutes in, the 24-year-old dude twisted this guy like a Rubik's Cube configuration - I guess he knew some martial arts shit. His boys had to help him up. The bottom line is the guy who didn't look dangerous was the most dangerous. Anyway, the thug gets up and he's like, 'I'mma sue this club! Where my earring at?' And as he's leavin' he says, 'I'mma go get my gun!' But he ain't come back. So I made this song for all the bigmouths."

I wrote the song to thank her, and sent her the record to get on it. She heard the record, loved it, got on it. I loved it so much I played it to everyone. Then I went to a cookout at Jamie Foxx's crib in LA, he loved it, so he got on it. 'Cos o my West Indian dialect, when I did Kill Them, Pharrell produced a record on John Legend's album that got Buju [Banton] on it, but I eventually spit on it too. Pharrell invited me to John Legend's session, and he wanted me to do the patois thing. And when I got there, I played the record for John Legend, and he ended up on it! So now the record was Busta Rhymes featuring Mary J Blige, Jamie Foxx and John Legend. Derek Dudley, who's Common's manager, ended up hearin' about the song, so then Common ended up on the record. Busta: "I'm proud of this album - and I hope you're all proud o' me. I ain't never loved anything more than my own children... let me correct that - I never loved anything as much as my family or my kids, my mom, my pops, my brother, my children, my beautiful woman - like this music. Everything I give my family I get back, and everything I give to this music I get back. Even the bad moments are like training - like boot camp you have to go through before you receive your medals. Money first started rapping around the hood with his right hand G-Stro aka Coca Cola Strolla "aka 4-5-6, suck my dick, you heard" (Money throws in laughing) forming the Get Guap Gang, which has picked up a "band wagon of dick riders" as Show refers to them aside from countless other official members and fans. Being a chief recording engineer for a small studio in Chinatown Manhattan gave him unlimited access to the mic. "Working as the main engineer I had a set of keys to the studio, so when I had downtime I was recording my shit. I would call the goons up, They'd come lay they shit down and we’d be in that shit all night long recording shit, gettin' bent the fuck up. We'd go back to the hood the next afternoon and play our shit outside.” He laughs, “that shit was the best feeling I ever got in my life. I’m hearing my shit blasting through the whole hood and niggas is really fucking wit me. That gotta be one of the best experiences of my life. It felt like we was really on,.

After linking up with Busa Bus, underground rapper turned actor, "Gravy", started getting wind of his cousins movements. "Yea we linked up and started talkin, he heard bout me and Busta and the lil buzz I was gettin in my hood, one thing led to another and I ended up on that "Goonberg Goes To Africa Mixtape" and a few other of his joints", recalls Money. "I started engineering for Gravy too. Once his verse was done I would call the regular engineer for that studio in to record my shit. I made sure I went in on everything, I was determined to make niggas ask ‘who's that nigga’." And thats exactly what Busta Rhymes did in 2007. Coincidentally enough the "Goonberg Goes To Africa" mixtape ended up in Busta's hands. "I never told Bus I rapped in the beginning, I never been the type to ask for help, I could be a real stubborn nigga at times. I felt like.... I don't know what I felt, my pride was in the way iI wanted to get shit poppin myself, if he found out I rap then that was that but I wasn’t stressin it." Says Money, "Bus did know Gravy was my cousin though, I don’t know if thats the reason why he got the mixtape or what. But one day I was in the studio wit Bus and he was like 'I got your cousin mixtape', I don't remember his exact words but somehow we got into the features on the mixtape and he was talkin bout how ill this nigga 'Show Money' sounded, I just started rollin and I looked at him and said you know thats me right? lol. He just looked at me and said 'get the fuck outta here', asking me what I mean thats me and all that for like a hour, asking me why I never said nothing. Then he said 'fuck that you going to be apart of this flipmode movement'. It was a wrap after that I was in there recording him and me everyday, just going at it”, smiles Money.

Released his first Flipmode mixtape "Show Me The Money" in July 2008.

As he'll tell you himself he's just getting started. "Yea man, I ain't nowhere near where I want to be, all this did was just give me hope, it let me know I can do this shit, you know what I mean? I aint signed to label yet, them checks ain’t comin in yet nigga. The engineering shit is whats keeping me paid but I’m falling back from that to really focus on my rap career, I got a few other things goin on to hold me down financially." He laughs as he winks his eye. "I love Bus to death but I gotta just take a break from engineering and really focus on this shit, I gotta be out here, I gotta get that buzz up, dig me. I gotta be around to take full advantage of everything I can. I can't really focus when im traveling every other day and got 3 other artists to record beside myself, feel me. Imma get it though, my plans is to just work on this album and throw it out to these labels and wait for them to jump at it. They fuckin love me, just give me a minute, imma be in there, like my nigga weezy said, headed straight to the bank nigga.
